On September 22, 2026, Houston’s catering and events community gathered at The Corinthian for The Golden NACE Houston Awards. It was an evening celebrating the creativity, dedication, and people behind exceptional events across our city.
I was extremely honored to receive the Spirit of NACE and Above & Beyond Award, and to share in the Synergy Award – Team Event of the Year for a wedding at The Post Oak Hotel with Peachy Events. I’m deeply grateful for this recognition, and for the community that made it so meaningful.
Building Daniel Meadows Wedding Photography in Houston has brought some wonderful people into my life. Many are fellow wedding and event professionals whose work I admire enormously. Receiving recognition within that community means a great deal, because these are people who understand the care, preparation, and commitment that go into every celebration.
The Synergy Award is particularly meaningful because it celebrates collaboration. NACE Houston describes it as recognition of the partnerships and teamwork that produce an extraordinary event. I’m proud to share this honor with the talented professionals who helped bring our winning wedding to life.
Every successful event draws on many different skills. Planners, venue teams, caterers, florists, designers, production specialists, entertainers, and photographers each contribute something essential. Working alongside people who care deeply about their craft makes you want to bring your very best, too.
The Spirit of NACE Award carries a personal significance. Its criteria recognize dedication to the chapter, compassionate service, leadership, and mentoring that positively influence the wider industry. To be recognized in that company is a tremendous honor. Receiving the Above & Beyond Award alongside it was another welcome encouragement to keep giving my time and energy to this community.
Above all, I want to thank NACE Houston for being a constant source of support and friendship. The encouragement, shared knowledge, and relationships I have found here have helped me grow as a business owner and as a person. I’m grateful to belong to a community where people make time for one another and take pride in seeing their colleagues succeed.
That spirit of collaboration also shapes my work as a Houston wedding photographer. Alongside documenting the people, emotion, and design of a wedding, I care about working thoughtfully with the professionals bringing the day together. Understanding their plans, respecting their expertise, and communicating well all contribute to the experience we create for our couples.
As someone who grew up in England and now calls Houston home, this recognition feels especially meaningful. The friendships I have made through this industry are a large part of what makes this city home to me.
These awards have given me fresh motivation for the years ahead: to keep improving my photography, contribute more to our local events community, and support the people who have supported me.
To the NACE Houston board, the gala organisers, my fellow members, and everyone who helped make the evening possible: thank you. Congratulations, too, to the other winners and nominees. It was a privilege to celebrate alongside you.
